Although Absolutely Pisces was never created with the intention of making money, there are a few ways in which I monetize this blog to cover (part of) my expenses to make it. And I want to be fully transparent about them.

How do I make money?

There are three ways in which I make money from this blog:

Advertisements — On most pages you will find one advertisement (provided by Google Adsense). I carefully selected what brands and types of products are allowed to be advertised on AP. I tried to stay as close to the world (and audience) of AP as possible. If you see any ad that you think is inappropriate or irrelevant, please take a screenshot and let me know.

Affiliate programs — All books that I mention in my articles can be purchased through this blog. If you do this, I will get a small amount of money from your purchase. I have actually read every book that I recommend or discuss. For every book I provide options to purchase on either Amazon or Bol.com, both the English and Dutch editions (when available). I do not respond to authors requesting me to review (and possibly promote) their book. If you come across any broken affiliate links, please let me know.

Buy me a coffee — Visitors who like my content and would like to financially reward me for my efforts can ‘buy me a coffee’. This is a PayPal payment expressed in the unit of ‘cups of coffee’. You can buy me a coffee now.

And these are the only three ways in which I make money with this blog.

How don’t I make money?

No commission for charity — If you donate money through AP to charity I do not earn any commission.

No selling out privacy — I will never sell your personal details to anyone for whatever reason. Apart from the fact that this would be illegal without your consent, this is not how I like to make money and it is surely not in line with the spirit of AP. I also don’t sell anonymous statistics on things like visitor behavior, article popularity, etc.

No influencing — I don’t take money from anyone to either discuss, or not discuss, any topics, books, techniques, etc. If I promote or reference other blogs, websites, YouTube channels, products, yoga techniques and the like, I do so without compensation and out of my own free will.

No dictation — The same is true for any guest authors: they do not get paid for their content. (They do get to promote their own blog, practice, art, YouTube channel, etc.) Also, I don’t dictate guest authors what they should write, although I might invite them to write about a topic or field of expertise I myself am less knowledgeable in or familiar with.

Why do I make money?

Developing and maintaining a blog costs money. If I leave out the countless hours I spent on developing, styling, researching and -of course- writing, I make expenses for web domains, hosting, purchasing WordPress plugins and buying the rights to use graphic material. These are mostly recurring costs. So if you like AP, value the content and believe such platforms should stay on the Internet, a ‘cup of coffee’ would be greatly appreciated! ?
